- 5 cups yogurt
- 2 cups tsp sugar
- 1 cup water or cold milk
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 pinch saffron
- 10 almonds, chopped finely
- 1 tsp rose water
- crushed ice cubes
Lassi (Punjabi: لسی, ਲੱਸੀ, Hindi: लस्सी, Urdu: لسی, Marathi: ताक, Gujarati: છાસ, Bengali: লস্যি, is a popular and traditional yogurt-based drink which originates in the Punjab region. It is made by blending yogurt with water and spices.
In a blender blend yogurt, sugar, 1/2 of the cardamom powder, water/milk, saffron & rose water.
Don’t blend it in top speed or for long otherwise the butter will come to the top.
Gently blend it so that everything mixes well.
Serve in tall glasses.
Add crushed ice cubes, garnish with some cardamom powder and sliced almonds.
